I finally got to try Barrio Bistro and it’s sister restaurant La Lulu! Thursday was lady’s night with complimentary house cocktails for the ladies.

I had a raicilla beverage made with tamarindo and pineapple juice!! Oh my! We were able to order from both menus, Barrio Bistro and LaLulu. I was very impressed!! Oh my goodness! First of all, the food is INCREDIBLE! The menu was very elevated and innovative! Tuesday is BYOB with no corkage fee, Wednesday is Cuban night, Thursday Ladies night, then live music Friday and Saturday nights! Located in the trendy Versalles neighborhood, not far from anywhere you might be in Vallarta.
They began service with complimentary bread with hummus and chimmichuri. I will tell you in English what we had and post what it was listed as on the menu…..lol. Little bit complicated which is a compliment to the interesting menu.
I ordered a seafood sampler plate that included crab, shellfish and octopus. It was divine!! Also had BONE MARROW!!! Don’t balk until you have tried it! Not common on menus anywhere, but be prepared to melt under the table!! It was garnished with mushrooms cooked in red wine, grilled onions, and Parmesan cheese. I prefer to spread this deliciousness on their fresh bread. It is very rich. One of my new favorite places that many of my friends already frequent.
Buen provecho!!
