Thierry Blouet, owner chef of Grupo Café des Artistes which includes Café des Artistes Puerto Vallarta, Tuna Blanca Punta de Mita, Café des Artistes Los Cabos and Rosé-Thierry Boutiques.
Chef Blouet was born in Puerto Rico in 1964, his French parents raised him in France and Mexico, where haute cuisine is an essential ingredient of the good life. With a Franco-Mexican culture, Chef Thierry bases his style on traditional French cuisine with modern techniques, using flavors and ingredients from all over Mexico.
He founded Café des Artistes Puerto Vallarta in 1990, where diners discovered gastronomic elegance within a magnificent setting. Exclusive environments distinguish Café des Artistes as the icon restaurant of Puerto Vallarta, the region and Mexico for 30 years. Its excellence in service and the high quality of food makes this restaurant a unique place for intimate celebrations and important business meetings.
Café des Artistes has been multi-awarded by various associations such as AAA, which granted it the highest rating in Mexico of 4 diamonds as an independent restaurant, Wine Spectator, granting the distinction of “Best Award of Excellence” and for two consecutive years within the 120 Best Mexican Restaurants by Culinaria Mexicana.
With the undisputed seal of Grupo Café des Artistes, Tuna Blanca in Punta de Mita, since 2008, offers an authentic feast of fresh organic ingredients from the region and traditional dishes from the Mexican Pacific coast. In addition to his company, Chef Blouet is also a co-founder of the International Gourmet Festival with 25 years of experience in Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit, one of the most important gastronomic events in the country.
He has been President of the Thierry Blouet Trophy for 15 years with offices in Puerto Vallarta, Guadalajara, and Mexico City, created with the firm objective of concentrating, promoting, and rewarding the gastronomic talent of Mexico. Endorsed by l'Académie Culinaire de France, it is one of the best competitions to promote young Mexican chefs.
He has been a member of the Vatel Club de México since 1999, a member of the Maîtres Cuisiniers de France since 2000, a member of the Académie Culinaire de France since 2005, a member of the Grand Cordon d'Or de la Cuisine Française fraternity in 2016; holds the titles of Maître Cuisinier de France since 2000, Chevalier de l'Ordre du Mérite Agricole since 2008, Disciple d'Escof ﬁer since 2018; He is currently Bailli Délégué du Mexique, Membre Du Conseil Magistral (National President and Member of the World Council) for La Chaîne des Rôtisseurs.
