Puerto Vallarta Comes Alive for The Day of The Dead

By bestofbay | Oct 14, 2019

If you’re a North American you can see Halloween costumes and candy everywhere and if you’re lucky enough to be with us here on the Bay of Banderas from Friday Nov. 1st - to Saturday November 2nd you can help celebrate The Mexican and Central American version, Día de los Muertos.  The Day of the Dead, when people gather to remember their departed friends and families.

Historians say it all began with the Aztecs and their festival dedicated to the Goddess Mictecacihuatl. Flowers, poems, special foods are all dedicated to the spirits of the dead and lively parades, skillfully painted people and special meals will be everywhere.

Día de los Muertos is also the unofficial beginning of the season here in spectacular Puerto Vallarta and the millions of tourists are getting ready to come. Each year the Bay hosts almost 4 million visitors, many of whom return every year and that number keeps growing.

Come celebrate with us. Day of the Dead, or any day in Puerto Vallarta

Día de los Muertos is also the unofficial beginning of the season here in spectacular Puerto Vallarta and the millions of tourists are getting ready to come. Each year the Bay hosts almost 4 million visitors, many of whom return every year and that number keeps growing.

What is it about Puerto Vallarta and the Bay that makes it so special?  Is it the 51 miles of powder-white sandy beaches? The sparkling Pacific, complete with breaching whales and leaping dolphins?

Is it the hundreds of world-class resorts? The amazing food? The tumbling jungles? The million and one activities? The pulsing clubs? The vibrant Malecon? Yes. But it is so much more.

Puerto Vallarta and the Bay of Banderas from Punta Mita to Yelapa has a treasure you can share. It’s the people here and their giant, generous, warm and welcoming hearts.

For me, I have been to many places, many beaches and pretty much they all are great. But I have never been to anyplace where the local people are so friendly, caring and wonderful.

If you’re looking to bring yourself, your life, your relationships back to life I can tell you from the bottom of my heart there is no place like this place, any place on the planet.  Come celebrate with us. Day of the Dead, or any day, Puerto Vallarta will make you happy you’re alive.
